Simple hourly rates. Online sessions are billed for actual Zoom time, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes. Standard tutoring (K–12 non-AP and undergraduate) is $60/hr online and $70/hr in-person (travel included in the Greater Portland, OR metro). AP and test prep are $70/hr online and $80/hr in-person; graduate work is quoted on your intro call. Short-notice booking premiums apply when a paid session is booked close to the start time.
How it works
Get started with a free intro call, then book tutoring once fit and rates are confirmed. Sessions run online or in-person in Greater Portland, OR. Online time is billed from Zoom, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes. No long-term contract — pay per session, or subscribe for a materials or tutoring package.
Materials & tutoring packages
Semester and school-year plans for study materials, tutoring, or both. Choose 1–5+ classes, weekly cadence or hour blocks. Pay in full, or put 25% down before booking and pay the remaining balance after each session.

Premium group rates apply to AP courses and standardized test prep (SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT). Rates apply to groups of 2, 3, 4, 5 students. Listed in-person rates already include a $10/hr travel fee for the Greater Portland, OR metro — not an extra charge on top of the hourly rate shown. Group sessions are typically 1 hour — use the group calculator below for your total.
How to pay
After you book on /book, your confirmation email includes the session invoice. Pay via Zelle (memo must include the invoice #). Students may not fall more than 2 hours behind on unpaid invoices.
Preferred payment: Zelle (no card checkout on this site). Every paid booking sends an invoice in your confirmation email.
- Use the session calculator for an estimate based on level, format, and duration. Online sessions are billed for actual Zoom time, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes.
- Zelle: 618-401-4880
- Include the invoice # from your session email or SMS, plus the student name, in your Zelle memo — this lets us mark your session paid automatically.
- Students may not fall more than 2 hours behind on unpaid session invoices. New bookings are declined until the balance is caught up.
- Packages: Packages require a 25% deposit before booking. The remaining balance is invoiced after each session as package hours are used. Or pay the package in full upfront.

Payment
Confirmation emails include a payable invoice (Zelle). Students may not fall more than 2 hours behind on unpaid session invoices. See Tutoring policies for full payment rules.
Session length
Online sessions are billed for how long the Zoom meeting actually lasted, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes (15 minutes up to 4 hours when a session occurs). In-person sessions use the same rounding on actual time. Reserved slots are for scheduling; no-shows may still be billed for reserved time. No package required to start.
In-person & group
In-person sessions are available in the Greater Portland, OR metro (travel included in the rate). Groups of 2–5 share a session at a lower per-student rate — confirm size on your intro call.
Short-notice (rush) bookings
Sessions confirmed close to the start time may include a premium on the session total (+20% at 16–24 hours, +40% at 8–16 hours, +75% or declined at under 8 hours). See the Tutoring policies page for the full policy.
Cancellations & rescheduling
Same-day moves that day are free when available. Moving to a different day with less than 24 hours' notice may be billed as a late cancellation. Pulling hours earlier (e.g. cancel tomorrow, add time today) and taking them is a pull-forward — not a late cancel; rush may apply only to the added earlier time.
