Readiness Check

You are ready when you can:

  • Build a table from x(t), y(t).
  • Sketch a parametric curve in increasing t order.
  • Identify start/end from a restricted t-domain.
  • Move among analytical, table, and graph forms.

Course vs AP Exam

Course scope only (Unit 4 additional topic; not on the AP Exam). These skills still matter for Unit 4 coursework and readiness for 4.2-4.3.

Tactics (course assessments)

1. Write domain of t first. 2. Pick evenly spaced t values in domain. 3. Plot (x, y), not (t, x) unless specified. 4. Arrow or numbers to show increasing t. 5. Label start/end when domain is restricted.

Common Traps

  • Wrong point order on graph.
  • Missing endpoint evaluation at t_min, t_max.
  • Table arithmetic errors in x(t) or y(t).
  • Ignoring restricted domain on sketch.
