Exam Strategy
Readiness Check
You are ready when you can:
- Build T from percent transitions (4.14.A.1).
- Compute T v and n-step predictions (4.14.B.1).
- Explain and find steady state (4.14.B.2).
- Use inverse for past states when applicable (4.14.B.3).
- Construct models and support conclusions (1.C, 3.B, 3.C).
Course vs AP Exam
Course scope only (Unit 4 additional topic; not on the AP Exam). This completes Unit 4 additional matrix topics for coursework.
Tactics (course assessments)
1. Label states clearly (state 1 vs state 2). 2. Rows/columns of T match the story consistently. 3. Initial vector v matches state order. 4. One step: multiply T by v. 5. Many steps: T^n v or repeated multiply; check steady state with T s = s.
Common Traps
- Percent rows not summing correctly in context.
- Wrong state order in v.
- Claiming steady state without verification.
